So far almost everything has worked without a hitch (although sometimes the GNOME3 interface will crash and come back up but it's not the issue here). Everything but the printer.
The printer is connected via USB and worked fine in Ubuntu 11.04 by just installing Lexmark's drivers and printing away.
After installing the drivers in Linux mint however, it won't even print a test page.
Anything I try gives the same error, how it was unable to communicate with the printer.
If the printer is in standby and I try to print something it will wake it up but not print the document.

Having a working printer will be a major dealbreaker for my dad and I'd hate to see him go back to Ubuntu or even worse Windows so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
edit: also, it's a 32-bit install. Ubuntu might have been a 64-bit install but I don't remember, not even sure if that means anything.
