brothers HL2170W install problem

Hello All, I,m new and have searched for the answer in Faqs, but not found an answer. I have a brothers hl2170W and running mint 12 and I had the printer installed three days ago. Not it does not show up in Printers anymore. I had to install it by /bin/something/something/ and I have not been able to find the string nor able to get a driver install from brothers site ether.

Check the instructions for installing, and checking:

sudo dpkg -l | grep Brother

This should output which drivers you have installed, I have a Brother 495CW, I found I needed set it to a address reserve in my router for the wireless otherwise after reboot I would loose the print/scanner. Also the brother printer name did not work in the network printer setup I had to use the ip address for everything to workk correctly.
