I installed Mint 12 with the Gnome desktop, but which could not install my Lexmark Z-32 or Z705 printer so that it prints.
I found Gnome rather limited in customization and so i installed the KDE desktop, which i like better, but there is not even a Printer applet in System Settings, or anywhere. This is such a basic function that I wonder why it is not there.
I did some searching on this and one site said to go to http://localhost:631/admin, and i added both printers by following thru, and both show up under the Printers in System Settings under Gnome, and in the print dialogue boxes on LibreOffice in both desktops, but "print test page" will not print under the former or do any printing under the latter, though i tried different settings (and both are plugged in, and the USB works with other things). So i came here, and any help will be appreciated. Thanks
