xerox phaser-6128mfp-n printing codes

Post by tharpa »

I have a Xerox Phaser 6128mfp which I was able to print with on a dell with ubuntu. However, I now have Linux on a Zareason laptop. I can "print", but it just prints codes, many pages, no more than one line per page. A trick which worked on my dell ubuntu,

Code: Select all

sudo aa-complain cupsd
gives me the message,

Code: Select all

sudo: aa-complain: command not found

You are missing some utilities... try this :

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install apparmor-utils
Except this, did you install your printer successfully?

so tharpa I would guess from this

http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Xer ... er_6121MFP

that the foo2lava driver would be needed to ..........drive .........this printer

http://foo2lava.rkkda.com/

In my version of Mint; I have the foo2zjs driver installed already; (I know not why) http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/

but not foo2lava; so I would assume you would need to install the foo2lava driver

I think this guide from Arch Linux https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/in ... ava_driver is a really description of how to install the driver; let us know if you would like more details please

Thanks, pdc. The driver that I need is Xerox Phaser 3160N Foomatic/pxlcolor. So I'm printing okay now.
