Multicasts won't stop...

Postby MintyBird on Fri May 25, 2012 5:08 am

Hi there..

while playing urban terror i noticed several lags. So i tried to find out where the problem is.

iftop says something makes multicast calls all the time. So i disabled it with
Code: Select all
sudo ifconfig wlan0 -multicast
sudo ifconfig wlan0 -allmulti

But it looks like it didn't help. Then i disabled avahi, which didn't help either. Some retarded program is still killing my ping.

mitwifi:
Code: Select all
ferdl@carsten ~ $ sudo /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintWifi/mintWifi.py

Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service smbd reload

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the reload(8) utility, e.g. reload smbd

I'm using Wicd and removed network-manager.
