Can't get WNDA3100v2 to work

I can't have a wired connection in this house. My only option is wireless, so I have this USB adapter. The Netgear WNDA3100v2. I am unsure how to go about getting it to work on Mint 13. I've googled a lot and tried various methods, but at some point, my results always differed from the poster's. According to the Windows Wireless Drivers thing, the USB is present and the driver is working, but the system makes no attempt to connect. It only sees a wired connection (which is disconnected).

If any more information is needed, I can try and provide it. I'm really eager to get this working, because otherwise, I won't be able to have internet on that boot.

I think that is the wrong driver I have a wna3100 that uses that version. MIne isnt a dual band and is version 1 IIRC. There was a post on the UBUNTU froums that had several attachments with the drivers for the wna3100 series and the wnda as well unfortunatly i dont have the link handy any more so a search there might get results. I already went through that thread, sadly.

And I tried bcmwlhigh6, but got the same results. Others who use the same adapter I do all seemed to have success with that driver, so that's what I used... Tried to use, anyway.

@ardisiac which version of mint have you installed the 32 or 64bit, and is the driver you are using the same?

32bit, and I'm 90% sure the driver matches that. I got it from some forum thread I found on a google search.

I saw that thread already as well. It's a bit different from my problem. They're having issues with the password and connecting. Mine doesn't make an attempt to connect at all. It whines that there's no wired connection and doesn't even acknowledge that there's wireless.

How did you install the driver? Also can you provide the outputs of lsmod and dmesg | grep -e error -e eth -e wlan

You do not appear to be loading ndiswrapper module at boot which is needed to utilise the Windows driver. Try unplugging the adapter, issuing a sudo modprobe ndiswrapper command then re-plugging the adapter and see if this has any effect? If it now works, edit the file /etc/modules as administrator and add ndiswrapper to the end on a new line.
