wireless managing to connect, but internet not working

Postby brucezepplin on Sun Apr 22, 2012 10:04 am

Hi, I manage to connect the laptop to the wireless (ie shows connected to wifinetwork) however when i try to run something in the browser it just doesn't work. after pinging it shows that I am not connected to the internet, despite the network manager showing that I am. If I press F5 to turn wireless on/off, the internet works as it should, but this can take up to 10 times to restart the wireless before it works. this happens around 10-20 times a day in which the internet will stop working while I am still "connected". Any ideas as to why this is?

this has happened 3 times while I typed this out. strangley, if I am streaming or downloading something this tends not to happen.

Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service smbd reload

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
