wifi fine, another user arrives, I lose connection..?

Postby nathanjh13 on Sat May 05, 2012 10:33 am

Hiya, in an internet cafe, wifi fine, another user arrives, I lose connection. She leaves, I get connection back immediately.

Any clues how to prevent connection dropout like this please?

Many thanks

nathanjh13,

Not knowing how you're connected to the Internet, and not knowing how this other user connects, it's hard to help. But, if you're connected to a wifi network via your wireless router and your connection drops when this other user connects to their wireless router, your problem might be that both wireless routers are using the same channel. Here is some more info: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/21132/ch ... ss-signal/ (you can ignore the windows stuff).

Thanks again. It's the same hub and we're both connected wirelessly. I'll take a look at the link.

Check to see how ip address are assigned. I wonder if both computers are trying to use the same ip.
