Wifi fails on some routers, Mint 12 LXDE, Atheros AR9285

Post by Flumme »

Hi all!

I have run into a slight problem with my laptop at work. I am very briefly able to connect to the Wifi network, but then I'm unceremoniously booted out, and the router will not let anyone online for a couple of minutes. My computer will try to reconnect a couple of times (and succedes for a few seconds) but gets disconnected every time. When connected via my Windows OS on the same computer, everything is fine.

My Wifi at home is working like a charm, and so is another Wifi network I am logging into occassionaly.

Here's my hard ware info:

Oh, and I've tried this command too, but that killed my Wifi completely...
sudo sh -c 'echo "options ath9k nohwcrypt" > /etc/modprobe.d/wlan.conf'
In order to get things rolling again I ended up reinstalling Mint all over again.
