Pantech UML290 Verizon wireless

Not sure what I'm missing. I plug in the modem. It finds it and allows me to configure . Dial =777 Username = #########@vzw3g.com Password =vzw, tries to connect but never does. Has anyone been able to get this broadband USB modem working? I don't ned it to be 4G just need a connection.
