mint 14 cinnamon and realtek drivers

Hi all........ Need a bit of help with my system. I have gone into the system settings and have chosen to apply changes so the on-board Broadcom linux wireless driver can be used, updated and it wont register as being used, the system defaults to "do not use the device". My existing wireless LAN controller is a Broadcom BCM4313. I deally I would like to use that as my default, however, I do not get the choice to choose it as the system tells me "this device is not working"

Any ideas would be gratefully received
