Hello, I have recently installed Mint 13 (KDE) on and old laptop of mine (Compaq EVO n620c) and it does not seem to recognize my wireless card. I have ran "mintwifi" and posted the results below. Also the "wireless" tab is not active in the network control panel. I know that the card and wireless signal are good as it works well running Windows XP. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated, thanks!! John

I read two things about this card online. The first suggested that it is obsolete and no longer supported by the Linux kernel. If that is the case you would have to use Windows Wireless Drivers utility with the relevant windows inf file. The second suggestion said that installing linux-firmware-nonfree made the card work for somebody out there. I cant guarantee either answer but at least it is something to look into.

Thanks for your reply viking777. Using your suggestion about the Windows Wireless Drivers utility I found the inf. file in my Windows xp system and figured out how to acess it from the WWD utility. After a reboot and enabling my network I am now typing this reply on my now wireless laptop. Thanks again. John.
