I've been unable to get the mobile broadband 3G working. Can someone please help me?
I've read lot's of posts and tried lots of different settings to no success, hence this post.
Info:
Linux Mint 14 (Nadia) – (I've ran the “update manager” but I'm nor sure if it installed the 14.1 How can I tell this?)
Cinnamon desktop, 64 bit architecture
The device is a usb pen – Huawey E173
lsusb shows: bus 002 Device 011: ID 12d1:1c05 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E173s
The ISP is a common one (in Portugal): “Kanguru” by “Optimus”
The system recognizes the pen as a modem and enables the “mobile broadband” icon in tray:
I used “Network Connections” and edited accordingly to many posts I read and also to the ISP's info:
IPv4 Settings
Automatic (PPP) addresses only
Additional DNS servers: 208.67.222.222 (it's an open DNS IP
address)
All else blank
