Wireless not working in Dual Boot with Windows 7 and Mint 14

Postby VintageRed on Thu Dec 20, 2012 10:14 pm

I posted a thread in the newbie forum viewtopic.php?f=90&t=120271 but garnered no advice and I will try this here.

Long story short this is my third Linux installation in a week and I'm extremely frustrated with this wireless issue that was present in all of the installations. Obviously my goal is to have it work on both OS without tampering with it every time I switch over. Currently the Wifi works GREAT on Windows 7. I have had to look for my drivers and enabling it etc to get it working on Windows on prior Linux installations when I was trying different codes that I saw on similiar threads. None worked by the way. I must be doing somethign wrong as I am a newbie.

I can see my network but I am unable to connect to it as it keeps asking for Authentication over and over again. I downloaded the nsdiwrapper but I have no idea how to install it as it gives me pages of codes!?

Anyway here is what it looks like at the moment. Let me know if you need more information.

I may be a victim of this bug 2325

http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/ ... gi?id=2325

Bug 2325 - Kernels after 2.6.38 break Centrino Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150 (rev 67)

I am over my head. I have downloaded the attachments from the link I have provided above. I have no idea what to do or how to fix it.

I also attempted

apport-collect 886231

ERROR: The launchpadlib Python module is not installed. This functionality is not available.

 Is this another bug? Do I need to install a completely different Linux OS and give up on Ubuntu/Mint?
