Cannot get connection via mobile broadband

Guys, I'm newbie to Linux, I wanted to install Linux Mint 14 but it cannot get connection to the internet via dongle provided by O2 in Ireland. I've read I think every post I could find on the net w.r.t. setting up mobile connection in Linux but to no avail. Would be really grateful if someone could help me with it.

Click the icon at the bottom near the right side.

Click "Manage Connections"

Click "New"

Continue, entering the appropriate information.

When finished, click the icon at the bottom near the right side again.

Click your connection (which you just set up) to be connected.

Hi there ,
I also have this very problem. just that where am from i can only connect to the internet via this dongle. I am afraid i will have to go back to ubuntu if there is no solution.
