I use a Huawei E160E modem.
In recent times I have been using live CDs in my computer for browsing the internet.
If I use Mint 11 Gnome 64 or 32 bit, I can connect and use the internet.
I have tried the same thing with some of the more recent versions of Mint, and the connection normally drops out after a few seconds, making it unusable.
I think the problem is with Network Manager, as the same thing happens with some other distros.
I think the Mint team should be aware of this, and test for it in future versions.
I have found a couple of recent releases of other distros where it does work, so it may be fixed. It works in recent versions of Slax and Netrunner.
