mint 14 nadia wireless signal drop on Acer Laptop

I am using Mint 14 Nadia and was experiencing my wireless signal on my Acer laptop dropping off/disconnecting every few seconds. I would restart and it would work for a short time then drop again, at other restarts it would stay connected. My solution for this problem was to use apt and install Wicd alongside mint's network manager. It all works great now. I will let everyone know if I run into any problems running both of them together.
