[SOLVED] Wifi Won't Work in Cinnamon, Works in KDE

Postby riffbo on Fri Mar 15, 2013 12:38 am

I installed Mint 14 KDE, and wanted to try Cinnamon instead. So installed mint-meta-cinnamon, rebooted, and logged into a cinnamon session. When I tell it to connect to my wireless network, I get the message "Activation of network connection failed"

If I go back to KDE (where I'm posting this from), wireless works flawlessly.

Code: Select all
08:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (rev c4)

I will edit with more details once I swap back to cinnamon and query for dmesg and such.

EDIT: Seems to after:
* Disable KWallet
* Delete network in KDE
* Reboot
* Log into KDE, log back into wifi network

And now it works fine in Cinnamon. Perhaps KWallet was the culprit?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
