Mint support for 802.1x security

Postby HoosierHoops on Wed Jul 17, 2013 7:10 pm

Hello..I've run Mint for a couple of weeks and really think it rocks..Love the easy Bash scripting..Here is my question:
I would like to use Mint on one of my multiple computers at work but we use the 802.1x security protocol on all our Cisco
switch..
I will need a Certificate depositority to store a cert for myself and the computer to authenticate to a WAP.
In windows you run ' mmc ' to download the certs. What steps in Linux do I take? What program or commands
are used? I have an open port to the Cisco switch in my cube that I can only legally use to pull down certs from
a CA server in Europe. So I can't play around and must use proper commands on that port lest an Admin somewhere
sends me a nasty gram and I lose that port access. Thanks in advance for your input and ideas. I have told my buddies
about Mint.. It Rocks...

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
