I have previously had this adapter working on a Dual Boot Linux Mint 15
and Linux Lite PC, but just recently can not get the adapter to wake up
when Linux Mint is booted.
lsusb gives me this:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 7392:7811 Edimax Technology Co., Ltd EW-7811Un
802.11n Wireless Adapter [Realtek RTL8188CUS]
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
I previously installed the driver from this file:
RTL8188C_8192C_USB_linux_v4.0.2_9000
I ran:
sudo bash install.sh
I have added to my /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf file
blacklist rtl8192cu
blacklist rtlwifi
I have added to my /etc/modules file
8188CUS
When I reboot the computer, I get no lights flickering on the adapter.
If I boot into Linux Lite following the same procedures as I used on
Linux Mint, I get wireless.
Any suggestions on what I should do to wake this adapter up under Linux
Mint?

Re: Edimax Adapter Issue
Are you still having this problem?
Suspect the reason you got Lite working and not Mint has to do with different kernel versions.
The updated driver from the Realtek site is only for kernels up to 3.9.
There is a driver patch available for the later kernels. See the bottom of this thread http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=161735
