Hi and thank you for your help in advance,
I am new to Linux and I just installed Linux Mint 16 in an old laptop. It looks like I have been so lucky as to have the infamous BCM4306 rev 3. I have tried reading other forums and installing the b43-fwcutter with no luck.
lshw shows:
*-network:0
descripción: Network controller
producto: BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller
fabricante: Broadcom Corporation
id físico: 2
información del bus: pci@0000:03:02.0

anchura: 32 bits
reloj: 33MHz
capacidades: bus_master
configuración: driver=b43-pci-bridge latency=64
recursos: irq:9 memoria:b0204000-b0205fff
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Re: installing bcm 4306
this seems to be the definitive guide:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2214110
and it would seem to me to say you need linux-firmware-nonfree
so you would need to remove whatever you have installed; and install linux-firmware-nonfree
chili is sometimes on this forum; and a regular on the ubuntu forum: you might just like to sign on there; and get the right advice http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=336
if you do that, let us know how it goes
