Have loaded Linux mint 17 on Dell latitude d610 successfully. But cannot connect to internet. How can I trouble shoot this problem?

If you are familiar with the Terminal you could collect NWData, see

Do you mean you can't connect with Wifi or with LAN (cable connection)? I guess it worked ok with Windows before you installed LM, correct?
