I am a total Linux newbie, and have recently installed Mint on my machine. Most of the things work fine, and I am learning more as I read through these forums, however I am at a total dead end with getting my wireless configured.
I'll try to detail all the steps I have followed as best as I can. When I first connect the USB device, and do a lsusb, I see the following:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 1737:0077 Linksys
so I know the device is being recognized by the system.
The first attempt to get the wireless card to work was to use ndiswrapper tool with the Windows XP driver (RT2570.inf) that was provided in the Linksys installation CD. The graphical interface (Windows Wireless Drivers) in the Control Center gave me an error "no network configuration tool found", when I installed the driver. However it shows that the driver is installed and the hardware is present. Is there something else I need to do to make this work, because I still do not see any sort of wireless connection in the Network Manager Applet in the task bar?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
P.S.: I am using "Gloria" 32 bit
