Trouble Getting Wireless to Work

I have installed Linux Mint 10 on a Dell Inspiron 6000 and cannot get wireless to work.

I had the Broadcom B43 Wireless Driver "activated and currently in use" according to Additional Drivers administration tool, but could not connect wirelessly.

I also installed bcmwl-kernel-source package which is "Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driver for use with Broadcom's BCM4311-, BCM4312-, BCM4321-, and BCM4322-based hardware.", and still no luck.

Tried searching the forum, but could not find a solution.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Your card can either use the STA driver or the b43 driver, according to this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiD ... er/bcm43xx

Try the STA driver first:

sudo modprobe -r b43 ssb wl
sudo modprobe wl

If your wifi card still isn't recognized, try the b43 module instead:

sudo modprobe -r b43 ssb
~$ sudo modprobe b43

Also, I'd like to see the output of:

Once you determine the kernel module that works for you, just put it in /etc/modules and blacklist the others in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf.
