D-Link WUA-2340 help!!!!

Post by Briff Deloso »

I recently installed Linux Mint 10 after getting super pissed off at Windows XP. Unfortunately I bought a USB wireless card that was windows compatable, and (obviously) not compatible with Mint 10. I installed ndiswrapper and successfully installed the drivers, but I can't seem to connect to my wireless internet connection. All I can connect to is the "autoeth0", which is what I am using right now. I am using a laptop that can connect to the internet, and I simply wired my computer to the laptop and bridged the connection.

Any help is appreciated.

Again, I have installed the drivers correctly.

Can you check in Synaptic Package Manager ? just type mintwifi in the quicksearch box . . . it has come pre-installed in every version of mint that I can remember ? ? ?

Please install it if it is not installed.

What wireless access point are you connecting to ? Your own wireless router ? supplied by your Service Provider ?

You should have the info if it is your home wireless network.

The SSID is the name of your wireless network. If you didn't change it when you set up your router it will most likely be the brand of the router, i.e. linksys.

Then you choose what security you set up when configuring your network. Most likely WPA2 personal as is the standard for home use.

Then enter your network passcode and you're off!
I'm sorry, guys. I never meant to hurt you. Just to destroy everything you ever believed in.
