I am a noob when it comes to Linux sorry. I have been trying since last night but nothing works. I currently have it on a usb stick, I don't plan on replacing xp until I know wifi works.

Code: Select all
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
   Soft blocked: no
   Hard blocked: no

I am using a windows driver.

Edit - Why is it
Code: Select all
Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce 54g] 802.11a/b/g PCI Express Transceiver (rev 02)

Shouldn't it be
Code: Select all
Dell Wireless 1470 Dual Band WLAN Mini-PCI Card
instead?
