Automatically re-connect to wireless network?

Postby odinmint on Fri Apr 06, 2012 7:19 am

Hi all,

I've done the required search on this forum but didn't find what I was looking for.

I have a wireless connection and everything is working fine. The only problem is that if I am disconnected for whatever reason (electricity outage, for example), the system does not re-connect automatically (unlike W7 on my dual boot machine). I get the "authentication required by wireless network" box which I have to fill with the passphrase and then I'm fine.

Thing is I keep my machine on at night when downloading and if I'm disconnected and I'm not there to input the passphrase, I waste the whole night having downloaded very little.

Any setting I'm not aware of which automatically re-connects when the connection is dropped?

(Using Mint 12 fully updated)

Thanks!

Ensure Connect Automatically and (possibly) Available to all users boxes are ticked in the connection properties.

Thanks, remoulder; I should have said that both options are ticked and that it didn't make any difference.
