I got the: "Could not update /home/username/.ICEauthority file" error when logging in.
I did a google search and found a "fix":
- Code: Select all
sudo chmod 766 /home/username
sudo chmod 600 ~/.ICEauthority
Well, I tried that. Rebooted, got the same message, BUT then I got several error msgs:
- Code: Select all
there is a problem with the configuration server.(usr/lib/libconfig2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)
At this msg I got the question if I wanted to delete it??:
- Code: Select all
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_mintMenu
- Code: Select all
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_IndicatorApplet
- Code: Select all
Naulitis could not create the following reqiured folders :/home/axept/Desktop,/home/axept/.naulitis
Well, FUN!
Then I tried something else, renamed the file .ICEauthority to something else, I thought maybe it would make a new one. THAT didn't help. I got the same msgs. So now I've made a new user, and no problem at all for this user. But I have no root access, no backup of emails etc.
Is there a way to sort this out ??
