Kmix alternative
k mix has been terrible! it crashes when i plug or unplug headphones or HDMI. pulse audio works well but the hot keys don't work. is there a good sound mixer that works with the hot keys

install it form synaptic or Mouon I think it is in kde.
just do a search for alsamixer.
