Flash in Linux minty?

soo the file install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz is sitting on Desktop. how do i install it? and to umm ya know. use flash

Flash should be installed by default in Mint? Isn't it for you? Even if not, you should be able to install it from the repositories. If you're hellbent on installing it yourself, unpack the archive (tar.gz is an archive) and look for an installer script. If you got sources in the archive only, google on building programs from sources.
