I took this from a post by Boo
emerald is installed and I have defaulted compiz to use it for window decorations, check in the advanced desktop settings app under window decoration and you will see what i mean.... i have not touched the emerald theme app either.
I no longer do a "emerald --replace" to enable desktop effects.
Hop you get it (I don't in gnome :))

Got it...thanks...I'm having problems with compiz I've never encountered before, however, its' just as well as I like the extra speed of not using it...Boo? :)

I'm in KDE now (I promised in a post I'd spend more time here to learn KDE - I keep my promises :))
There's "Emerald theme manager" under settings....
Enabled by default (as soon as you have enabled Compiz)
