GTK application look in Linux Mint 13 KDE Edition

Postby Gazpacho on Thu Aug 02, 2012 7:13 am

Hi everyone,

I just installed Linux Mint 13 (with KDE), I'm testing how stable is and unfortunatly I've noticed that GTK applications look ugly. I've gone to System Settings, Application Appearance, GTK Appearance and all looks to be correct, but GTK apps do not use the Oxygen-GTK theme.

Edit: I've checked that are not all GTK apps, Geany looks great, but not the Dropbox preference dialog.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You need qt4-qtconfig to make the GTK themes look good in a qt environment (KDE).
sudo apt-get install qt4-qtconfig

In the "GUI Style" dropdown menu, choose GTK+
Done.

I do not want that Qt apps use a GTK theme. I'm using KDE and I want GTK apps use the oxygen-gtk theme. This is the default configuration in a fresh install, but Dropbox properties dialog does not use it.

Is that theme stored in /usr/share/themes or ~/.themes (home folder)?

In /usr/share/themes. I've created a sym-link inside ~/.themes and I've tested users have read permissions.

No changes
