First, sorry for my english , I don´t speak this language, but I try !!

I want to know how to install compiz on mint 13 kde

just install these packages ?

sudo apt-get install compiz-kde
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

or I need some more packages ?

After installing I have to run the command compiz –replace ?

and after installing compiz I need to install "emerald" to buttons appear in the title bar ? or have another way to the title bar (with the buttons) appear ? after installing compiz it will disappear or not ?

What interests me is only the fire effect when opens and closes the windows and programs.

if you can help me with the correct procedures I'll be very grateful !!!

Open Synaptic -> click the search button on the tool bar -> type in compiz -> click on the box next to compiz and select Mark for Installation.

When you do that a popup will appear - Mark additional required changes. If you select - Mark - those additional changes will be included when you click Apply. You can also Cancel which will cancel any and all changes for that selected package and the package itself.

I'll use synaptic to install and see if everything runs well !!

Why you want to install Compiz in KDE? It has everything on-board already and if I may say so, it works nicer than Compiz.

but I want to install only to have the "fire effect", I don´t need the others.
