xlib:unable to connect to server display

I'm trying to run a monte carlo code for one of my classes which has the option of launching an "integrated plotter" which will plot to configuration which you have coded and will help with visualization of what is going on in the problem you're trying to solve. The problem is when I attempt to execute the integrated plotter, I get this error in the terminal:

Any ideas on what might be causing this or what I might be able to do to fix this?
