What Happened To Kate?

I'm sure this is not a Mint issue but someone screwed up Kate big time. I use (use to use) Kate on a daily basis. Now it's a total mess to use.

I hope this gets fixed soon. I ended up going over to -

http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html

but I prefer a correct working Kate. Anyone have other suggestions for a work around to this problem?

Running Mint KDE 13 and love everything about it (except Kate).

Simple fix... Follow the below instructions as posted in your first link...

Problem fixed..

It's worked for me...

"After some poking around we’ve figured out that the maximum line length is configurable:
Go to
settings > configure editor > open/save

There you can change the

line length limit

The value 0 means that there is no maximum.
Hit Ok and you’re good to go again".

I found out you do not want to set the line length to something like 64000. That's what I did and the program became very squirrly and unstable.

Thanks for the reply. It's working fairly reliably at the moment.
