hello guys am using linux mint 13 kde version and i wanted to try cinnemon release but am kind of confused ...
both cinnemon and mate edition show two types of downloades one with codecs and one without codecs whats that all about...

codecs like acc for dvd movies or mp3 for music are licensed and illegal to distribute in some countries due to license requirements.

You want the ones with codecs if you wish to play movies or listen to mp3 music.

If you want/need multimedia support you need to download the version who has that support build-in.

Mint 14 is the latest version of Mint.

This is easy to explain: Now there's only 1 page where you can find all the various downloads for 1 Mint version instead of having different download locations. It's easier to choose which version you need. With or without multimedia support, 32-bit or 64-bit.
