"March 5, 2013. Today KDE released updates for its Workspaces, Applications and Development Platform.
These updates are the first in a series of monthly stabilization updates to the 4.10 series.

4.10.1 updates bring many bugfixes and translation updates on top of the 4.10 release and are recommended updates for everyone running the initial 4.10 releases. As this release only contains bugfixes and translation updates, it will be a safe and pleasant update for everyone."

Haven't seen in Update Manager here in Mint 14 KDE with backports enabled yet.

Thanks for bring these items to our attention. It's appreciated, by me at least. Not that that counts, mind you.

Based on your first post about using and installing .10 I gave it a try. I'd always hated KDE - reminded me too much of Windwoes. Anyway to cut a short story long, I ended up theming it so it looked just like Cinnamon. I thought, "yeah, I can live with that", and promptly went back to Cinnamon. I figured there's no point using KDE if it looks just the same as Cinnamon.

I also Hated KDE and all it's in your face Candy Tweaking,Obscure Circle of Confusion Menu's & Settings.
But learned to ignore them and minimize them where I can as prefer more minimized zen desktop like gnome.
But KDE is Not just about the looks tho as that as is just a preference. But KDE has functions & features that other DE's lack.

Like having an app open remembering where and what size it was opened before is a biggy for me when working dual displays on 3 virtual desktops. And having 6-8 apps open at the same time and moused wheel turn to switch desktops on the fly. Or pin a open app like Dolphin with a mouse click to have it show up on all virtual desktops comes in handy needing only one instance on all desktops for core apps like file manager or Terminal.

Or allows me to have vertical panels as well as much more control over how many and how they behave.

On Gnome always needing more feature rich apps like K3b for CD/DVD more options and consistent burning results.
Dikikam 3.0 for images editing or Amarok or Clementine for music has much more features than Banshee.
And Dolphin file manager powerful and feature rich compared to Nemo which is coming along nicely and
hoping good things for it. Separate wallpapers for dual displays.

Constantly seeing posts asking for this or that feature that Kde already has. As people struggle with workarounds or adding bandaid fixes like devil's pie for getting apps to remember their Size & position. Or separate wallpapers on dual displays or many times the solution for them are told to install a Kde app to pick up the slack like K3b for lack of in gnome programs.

On my machine it uses less startup desktop idle ram about 20% less and is snappier and faster than Cinnamon 14 is on my setup.

And open closes apps is a smidgin' clunk delay closes apps in cinnamon. Now maybe it's my ati 4350 and open default drivers? That are the issue? Don't know as guess am using them in Kde also? And everything is smoother and more snappier window operations.

Hoping that changes in 15 as intend to install and give it a whirl. And Cinnamon is a fantastic desktop. Just doesn't cover some of the needs I have. And for me KDE 4.10 does. It's not perfect of course. But gets me closer to my personal needs than Cinnamon does at the present moment.

Ditto. Dolphin and K3b were the clinchers for me. Once I tried Dolphin, I knew there was no way I was going back to Thunar or Nemo. I also find KDE relatively easy to customize.

I'm thinking Nadia will not get 4.10.1. I'm thinking that will be reserved for the next version of Linux Mint. I don't know why, but I just have a hunch... maybe because the latest kernel was never backported either. I'm running 3.8.3 at the moment on this laptop I'm typing on, but that's because I did a manual upgrade outside of the repositories, wgetting and using ubuntu-raring's packages. btw the new kernel does seem faster with torrents! Ktorrent rocks, also.
