Yeah I know what you mean. I used PCLinuxOS for quite a while too. Then I thought it was the "be all end all" distro to use the rest of my life, but I have to say I am not very impressed with the 2009 release. They made a lot of improvements, and Tex and the Ripper Gang did a fine job, but it to me is too... I don't the best word to use, but not up to my standards I guess.

My sentiments exactly. I Loved the 2007 release and kept it updated (therefore having the latest release at all times) and everything was fantastic, but the 2009 release appears to have dropped off significantly in quality. Texstar, took a year off for personal reasons, and while the other devs did their best, I think Texstar's absence showed in the quality of the latest release. He is back now, so hopefully the quality will pick back up again, I would hate to see that distro die.

But anyway, I have gotten quite far off topic, so I will stop hijacking this thread now. Like I said, I may give the RC a try when I get a chance. I tend to not have time to get to my computer at night anymore when I am home from work, but if I do find the time, I might burn a disc and give it a spin.

Cheers,
Ken

Hi All,

Sorry but i don't want to hear from any final version of KDE CE 6 Felicia till the advent
of the KDE CE 7 Gloria.

I am running the KDE CE RC1 - KDE 4.2.2 - ppa open

That's enough for me. (my point of view)

I think Boo would think in starting a new work for the KDE CE 7 Gloria.
I assume this can be more important than to waste time to put out
a final or stable version of KDE CE 6 Felicia.

A new version of Kubuntu Linux will be release very soon.

The final is in testing.
I want to start on mint 7 KDE and build more packages to make upgrades or building new versions easier and quicker.
now that KDE 4.2.2 is in repos (ppa, ubuntu soon?) it will make the next mint KDE much faster since the bulk of the KDE bugs are gone.
Mint 6 KDE was more about a wait till KDE was some where usable.

Mint packages I have made so far and are in the mint repos.
mint-artwork-kde
mintassistant-kde
usplash-theme-mint-kde
mint-meta-kde
mintupload-kde
usb-modeswitch (repackage, for usb g3 modem, see http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=23834)

What were the 3 bugs that resulted in the second last release being deemed unfit to go final? I'm using RC1 and have no problems.
Resistance [to Linux] is futile.

Hi,

It seems Linux Mint Fluxbox CE 6 and KDE CE 6 (Felicia) Stable
has been released. No news on the blog. (news on MintTwitter)

Download link
http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/linuxmint.com/ ... community/

The best way is to wait for The Official Announcements (confirmation)
and the release notes at least for me.

I running KDE Stable CE an my first impresion is thats work great!

Running Ubuntu 8.10 Base KDE 4.2.0 and all Mint Tools using QT.. running Dist Upgrade ATM and after that installing linux-kernel-restricted package for having wireless lan working with my atheros card.. lets see how does it work..

But i think there's a lot of software included wich gets apt-removed asap..
