LinuxMint on RAID

Hi all,

At the moment, since I received my new computer, I am using Kubuntu 12.04, the latest version I know with an alternate install CD with which it is reasonably easy to install the OS on a RAID 0 drive-set.
Since 12.04 Ubuntu has stopped with the alternate CD's because: "not many people use RAID nowadays".
I have always been a fan of LinuxMint and would like to use the latest Mint-KDE again, but I like it to run on RAID disks.
How to do that?
At the moment I have 5 RAIDs, including one for swap, and I have a separate partition on the sda drive for /boot.
Can I use those again, will Mint recognize the MD's when I start the install process, or do I have to do a lot of tinkering to "hopefully" make things work?
Who has experience with this? Who can help me, by writing down, step by step, what I need to do to get it installed and working?
I found some manuals on the net but they are just too complicated for me. I am sure I will be lost completely. I need help, so please people, do this for me, write me your experiences with installing Mint on RAID, tell me how to do it and please write it as clear as possible, step by step. PLEASE.

Thank you so much.

Nobody?
Major disappointment.
This computer can do so much more if I get the RAID working but I have no idea how to do that.

It does seem an Odity with Linux that RAID support on the web is hard to find or almost not even talked about .. swept under the carpet.

I think its because of ZFS but .. hang on, thats on BSD. So it seems linux has a weakness.. no RAID equivelent..

I hear someone reply "btrfs" but thats buggy and not in the same league as ZFS.

Thankfully there is a good answer. You can install Linux-ZFS withinn Ubuntu / Mint and set up some RaidZ pools without making ZFS your root operating system. This is a good thing, its quite simple to do also

Here is a quick guide:

thanks
