Hello,

Yesterday I installed the 32-bit DVD version after MD5 check was confirmed. Installation was fine. I notice yesterday and today that when I boot into LM, the Update Manager (UM) icon shows up in the task bar. However, after I enter password for UM, nothing happens. This is unlike LM16 Cinnamon where Update Manager always shows up after entering password (correctly, of course).

Any ideas?

I never used this, always updated via synaptic package manager.
I just tried UM and after a few seconds a list of updates appears so its working for me.

Right click UM, check preferences and update method, make sure there is a tick against
include udpdates

If you launch mintupdate via the terminal, is there any error message ?

Today after logging in, the systray shows UM icon in blue color with a letter "i"
After entering passsword: I could be mistaken but this error may be due to Bug #1015832

Working for me on 64-bit.

No problem here. Works fine for me..

I could be mistaken but this error may be due to Bug #1015832

Thanks for the report. Another user already told us about this, this is a very rare issue we couldn't be able te reproduce here. This message deals with the fact mintUpdate can't display its main window.

2. System Settings
3. System Administration
4. Startup & Shutdown
5. Autostart
6. Add Program
7. Desktop File: Update Manager
command: mintupdate
status: (checked) enabled startup
