Has anyone managed to install this? It looks gorgeous, but the install fails at 20% every time. I've tried 2 different computers and in VMware, all the same result.
Are you referring to Ada, the previous release of Linux Mint? If you are determined to have a KDE desktop in Linux Mint, try installing the kubuntu-desktop package in Barbara or Bea. This is not something that has been tested, so don't expect it to work perfectly at first. I'd be glad to help you with this if you decide to try it.
That did it, thank you. I used Barbara on one computer and Bea on VMware on the other computer is installing now.
I had never heard of the kubuntu-desktop package before, even though I've tried both Ubuntu and Kubuntu in the past. I use Mepis mostly (which uses Ubuntu's repositories), but Mint might just replace it!
Ada had a lot of cool stuff in it, especially in regards to artwork and desktop.. but the method we used to build it and the installer it came with were not as good as the one we're now using for Barbara and Bea..
If we find the time, we'll take the ideas from Ada and make a KDE version based on Edgy.. but in the meantime I suppose the best way is to add the kubuntu-desktop package to Bea.
