@Boo: setting panel color

Post by locutus »

The original kicker panel at the bottom of M6-KDE was blue. I deleted that panel to make room for cairo-dock and placed the "xbar" at the top of the screen, then added a clock, taskbar, etc.

If I boot using kwin as the compositing manager, the xbar is blue. On the downside, plasmoids look awful in kwin.

If I boot using compiz, plasmoids look great but the xbar is Vista-ish black. What and where can I edit something to make the bar blue?

Thanks.

The blue bar that is transparent is a KDE desktop effect.
if you turn off desktop effects it goes black, and the same if you use compiz.
I think.

and i just noticed that they changed the settings under desktop effects from 4.1 to 4.2, you use to be able to choose compiz or kwin there. unless i have missed it.
