Yesterday I did the initial install of Mint 8 KDE 64 bit (thank you Clem and Boo). As expected with Mint, everything sailed along quite nicely on the install. At this point, the only issue that I have is the same one experienced with the Kubuntu install I did last week. Specifically, the bios power management is being bypassed by the installed power management. I suspect this is a kde based problem.
So, I've thought of taking a different approach this time. Specifically, I'd like to get some feedback from anyone who has actually tried installing the Gnome power management apps/utilities in a KDE (v4+) settings. Since the Mint kde is a fresh install, not a biggee if I mess it up by doing this. Hopefully, someone will provide either a re-assurance or a doom-n-gloom response
