kde look dessapiered, cannot update some packages

Hi

I have my mint 10 on a VMWare (windows 7 host)

Till last time I logged I have everything running ok till I logged today

-I have the gnome look, not the pre-installed

-In customize Theme
Controls: I only have QtCurve and Raleigh
Colors: everything is disabled
Window Border: AgingGorilla (current I selected), Atlanta, Bright, Crux, Esco, Metabox and Simple
Icons: using Mint-KDEa
Pointer: using oxy-white

-In Background I only have a ''image'' which is a solid color

-When I try to update the libs (because packages for firefox, xul-renner works ok) I have an error message:
I could not applay the changes, fix the broken packages first
I run apt-get clean in the konsole as root (of course) then I go back to the updater window and I got the same error

-I cannot open de Konsole as root

which do I missing to do?
