Files copy instead of move by default? Mint 13

I just finished installing Mint 13 XFCE version and I have come across a slightly annoying quirk... When ever I attempt to drag and drop files from one folder to another, the file manager seems to wants to copy the files instead of moving them. I am not attempting to do this between two different disks; this is actually happening right on the desktop when moving files from ~/Desktop/ to ~/Desktop/(some other directory).

Is there anyway to switch this behavior back to the old way? That is move the files if they are being dragged and dropped into another directory on the same disk? I do not wish to use Right Click > Cut / Paste or CTRL + X / CTRL + V; but would rather have the files move on drag and drop if at all possible.

Any help would be appreciated!

I believe that dragging files is a function of Thunar file manager. My test shows that you are correct -- drag/drop copies. Shift drag/drop will move the file. There is more information about mouse gestures and keyboard shortcuts accessed by pressing F1 while in Thunar.

I don't know if Mint changes these setting but in Xubuntu's XFCE:

Drag = Copy
Shift + Drag = Move
Ctrl + Shift + Drag = Link

That is strange... didn't used to do that in Mints 12 and under... Ah well... thanks for the info =) I'll look into maybe trying a different file manager or something.
