I was wondering is there any way on the xfce version to open a file or folder as administrator useing right click?

Folders, yes. Right-click a folder in Thunar and select "Open Folder as root".

Edit: GeneC beat me to it. And with a screenshot :lol:

There is no "Edit as Root" for a file though, right?

You can create one:

Thunar > Edit > Configure custom actions > +

BASIC TAB:
Name: Edit as Root
Command: gksu gedit %f

APPEARANCE TAB
Select: text files

You may have to close thunar and open it again.
