edit menu on xfce

Postby geezuslvr on Thu Sep 06, 2012 1:20 pm

Using Mint xfce - the newest, greatest one.

I installed sgt-puzzles and I cant find them anywhere on the menu. I did find them /usr/games. What I would like to know is how can i edit the start menu under Start>Games>Sgt-Puzzles>then all the games?

Thanks for your input

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Shows how to do it manually and also mentions LXMenuEditor which did not work for me

alacarte does have some functionality in Xfce. I use it to turn off system management stuff that appears in the Preferences section (Synaptic, Users and Groups, etc).

You have to install it without recommends or it will try to drag in most of GNOME though

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends alacarte

Agree that Alacarte is worth a try.
TRUST BUT VERIFY any advice from anybody, including me. Mint 17.2 Cinnamon on a Dell laptop. Dual booting Mint 17.1 XFCE / W7 on an Acer netbook. Mint 17.1 Cinnamon via Persistent Live USB on a Win7 Lenovo desktop with peripherals.
