Can't Add Previously Installed Items to Panel

Postby chris_debian on Fri Dec 07, 2012 1:19 pm

Hi, all.

I have recently installed LM14 with xfce. I preserved my /home and the install went well. For some reason though, I can't install a couple of panel items that I previously had, such as the Network Monitor. When I do try, I get a dialogue box telling me:

The plugin restarted more than once in the last 60 seconds. If you press Execute the panel will try to restart the plugin otherwise it will be permanently removed from the panel.

And I get the option to Execute or Remove. If I execute, I get the same message, and if I remove, I don't succeed in getting the item I wanted. I can only imagine that a file is still hanging around from the old install and that this is causing problems. Strangely though, items like the Weather applet work ok.

I can't see any old (or new) .xfce type config files or directories, so am puzzled.

Has anyone else seen this?
