Movie player doesn't start and Google Talk crash [SOLVED]

Hello! I am new arund here (this is my first post here, and I installled Linux the first time a week ago). I hope I posted in the right section, seeing that this is a multimedia problem in Mint XFCE 14.,
Last week I installed Mint XFCE in dual booth with Windows XP on a old Pentium4 with 1 GB RAM. The machine is too old and slow these days so I did want to try XFCE to see if I could continue to use it after XP will be discontinued.
After trying the Live DVD and seeeiing that everything seemed to work, I installed Mint XFCE 14. At the time of installation, my webcam was perfectly able to get my picture for my account.
After insytallation, I noticed that I couldn't play any video file. The Movie Plater (mplayer2) don't even start, and when I try to use it from the right-click menu, it doesn' work. And when I installed the Google Talk Video Accelerator plugin for Firefox and I tried to use Google Hangout, it crashed every single time.(I think that the two problems are tied because the green light on the webcam light, and it seems to be recognized by the system, it's playing the feed from the webcam that crash the plugin)
Coming from the Windows world, the first thing I thoungh was that I was missing the codecs, to I started to install a codec pachage after another from the Software Manahge. It didn't work, nothing changed. I was able to play the video files only after installing VLC, but the video quality is abysmal. I uninstalled and installed again mplayer2, firefox, google talk, etc, to no avail.
After some days of this, I decided to begin again, more slowly and carefully this time. I formatted and re-installed Mint XFCE from scratch, and I tried to play a video before checking the upgrades. Nothing. So I used the upgrade manager (there were really a lot of upgrades) and tried again. Nothing.
At this time, I tried to use the Terminal Emulator these are the results:
- Using mplayer alone:

- So I tried "mplayer filename", with a xvid avi
This time the video started, flawlessly, with even the external subtitles working (but the movie window had no button or controls, I had to use the keyboard, I don't know if it's normal for mplayer2 or not) this is what I got in the terminal:
So... anybody can help me with this problem?
About the webcam, it's a LOGITECH WEBCAM C200, noted in the hardware database as fully compatible. The system recognize the camera, this is what I read in "system informations"
When I try to use google hangout the camera lights up, as when I use it in windows. The crash happen after a few seconds, right at the time the image from the camera should appear on my screen. It's for this reason trhat I think the two problems are tied.
In the fiest days I tried using other webcam applications (cheese) but nothing worked.
P.S.: I don't know if this could be useful, but when I upgraded from firefox 18 to 18.0.1, the upgrade terminal window had written at the end. I don't know if it happended with the previous upgrades too, I didn't think to check the terminal at the time.
