Using Mutter with XFCE

Postby nankura on Sat Mar 16, 2013 7:13 pm

hey guys

I was wondering if anyone has got mutter to work with XFCE. personally im not a fan of xfce's builtin composite manager, even now it's still pretty featureless and from many reports, causes extreme video tearing. since it doesn't inject into opengl and uses randr instead

Now as much as i'm not a fan of gnome 3, i do love mutter. its light on resources ( in my opinion ), i love the default window effects and compositing.

So basically what im trying to achieve with this long post and abit of ranting. is mutter on xfce, running by default. any help is appreciated
